Krewe D'Etat, 2006 I had the opportunity to paint a few floats for Krewe D'Etat in late 2005 for the 2006 season. This very well known krewe is decorated each year by Royal Artists. Being the first time they rolled after ole' Katrina, what do you think the theme was? Leave it up to them... All photographs are courtesy of Royal Artists. This first float was a solo effort. It took about 3 days to paint. As you can tell, the waterlines at the bottom of the float were left intact as per request by the krewe and Herb.
This second float was only partially repainted where the water had gotten to it. The top pillars are left intact while the bottom was repainted. Another artist and I worked on this together.
