Knights of Chaos, 2008
The sign says it all... Chaos was cancelled in 2008 due to weather. One of the best parades in Mardi Gras had to stay home and wait until next year. Strong thunderstorms blew through the area at the time the lineup would have taken place. The Captains of Chaos, Babylon and Muses decided at noon that day not to risk it. Babylon and Muses were rescheduled for later days to roll. Chaos, however, could not be rescheduled. Many of the members also ride in other parades. Therefore, alot of the members had to ride in their other parades in the following days (D'Etat, Endymion, Rex, etc.) I painted about half of the repainted Chaos floats. They have 15 floats in all, and 13 get repainted each year (minus the King's float and Title float). The jokes were quite good and all of the floats were painted to the highest standards of Royal Artists. Some of the floats may possibly be used next year, so I am not able to post any pictures of the floats just yet. Yeah, I'm bummed, but I am more bummed for the riders who paid to ride in the parade. Sorry, fellas... Footnote: The rain ended at 6:15. If the parade would have been allowed to postpone for an hour or so, it would have been a great Thursday night for parades on St. Charles. _______________________________________________
