LE KREWE D'ETAT

Ahhhh... D'Etat...

The bad boys of Carnival. Led by their fearless Dictator, Le Krewe D'Etat stormed the Uptown route on Friday, February 20th, 2009, spewing satire galore to the delight of hundreds of thousands of awaiting spectators.

Once again, no one was immune to their jokes. The Jeffersons, Midura, Exxon, Senator Shep and many others all received a swift kick to the rump this year. The theme, "The Dictator Does Broadway" was a perfect vehicle to deliver the punches to those that deserved it.

I painted 8 of their chariots this year. Its an honor to decorate their floats. I always spend a little more time on these paintjobs to make sure its done right...
