Krewe of PROTEUS, 2008

Proteus... 2nd oldest parading krewe, 1st krewe to parade in 3 centuries, still using wooden wheels and 19th century chassis, beautifully designed and absolutely stunning.

I had the honor of doing alot of work on this parade this year. Were they the hardest floats I've ever painted? Yep. Was it worth it? Indeed. The amount of manhours alone it takes to get just one of these on the streets each year is amazing: the concept, the design, the paintjob, the mechanical work, the cut-outs, the props, the gold leafing, the electrical work, the lighting...
