I was asked if I could model a float prop from a picture. I went home that night, found some pics of a famous float, and modeled part of it. The model was ready the next evening... I searched for Mardi Gras pictures of floats, but not much came up. The Orpheus Leviathan Float was the most prevalent in the search, so I chose a section of that float to model. Below are sample references I used.
With the above reference pics, I modeled, UV mapped and textured the yellow seahorse prop. Below are some pictures of the final model.
This process can be useful for parade organizations in many ways. If you need a prop, it can be designed this way. If you need a physical model, it is no secret that CNC can create this. If you want to see how this example would fit on your float, we could check that out as well. You want it at 5 feet high or 10 feet high? No problem. Do you see the big picture? Lets talk. |
