Krewe of Okeanos, 2007

After being heavily flooded during Katrina and using all their strength to roll in 2006, Okeanos made a big comeback in 2007. They were able to get a new theme with new paintjobs. I painted their floats through Mardi Gras Decorators (Massett & Co.'s new name).

Children's Stories was the 2007 parade theme. Some of the older props that were heavily damaged in the Massett complex during Katrina looked brand new. Though this Krewe doesn't have the big bucks like the super krewes for paper flowers and huge floats, they are still rolling after 50+ years. "Basics" (general float paint colors) were done by Russel Nata, borrowed from the welding/construction crew to help out. Russel is now a jack of all trades! One more float was in the lineup - Goldylocks. I ran out of time between my 3 jobs, so the prop painter came in and did a great job on that float in very little time. I was not able to get a photograph of it.
