Props, 2008

This year I had the privelege of painting more props for Mardi Gras than in previous years. I enjoyed the change from painting floats exclusively.

One positive about painting props is that you rarely need a ladder to do it. Usually while I'm desperately hanging onto a straight ladder 18 feet up, I look down and yearn to paint something safely on the ground...

All of the props you see were painted earlier in the season for Phil Fricano. Phil cranks out some top notch styrofoam sculptures. They were used in a variety of parades (Excalibur, Sparta, Morpheus, Jupiter, King Arthur).
